Daniel graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2001, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedic Surgery).
Following the completion of his Australian training, he undertook a 12 month international fellowship at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, a major acute teaching hospital in the UK. The fellowship specialised in hip and knee joint replacement surgery, computer aided knee surgery and revision surgery, along with involvement in general orthopaedic trauma and multiple research studies. This was followed with visits to leading centres in the UK, the Netherlands and USA. Throughout recent years he has also attended courses in Austria, Ireland, the UK and Australia involving advanced hip and knee replacement techniques, sports injuries and trauma.
As a visiting orthopaedic specialist Daniel currently performs joint replacement and trauma surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
